ABOUT ABOUT

THIS is one of our favorite events of the year!!
Join us for a dark and spooky night of dirt, shenanigans, food and then hang out! Bring the whole family out to this one! This year we are partnering up with Trips for Kids who will be putting on some kids riding events.

We will be meeting at the 2nd boat ramp parking lot of Lake Kaweah (Kaweah Recreational Area) at 6:00. We will start off with a costume contest, a couple of riding contests/games and then will be rolling right as it gets dark. Parking in the lot is $5 or you can park up on the highway and ride in for free.

The ride will be approx 10-15mi of mostly dirt roads with a little bit of single track or technical areas (you may however need to shoulder your bike for a short creek crossing). The conditions can often be very loose dirt so a Mountain bike, Gravel, or CX bike is recommended, no slick tires. Some sort of flat protection and a spare tube is a must as there can be thorns. A Helmet is always required on all of our rides! It gets VERY dark down in the lake bed so you will want a light with a minimum of 400+ lumens which can last at least 3 hours. Bring water and wear layers as it can get cold.

Come and ride dressed up in a costume! There will be a sweet prize to our favorite rider in costume!

After the ride we will be providing the food for a delicious BBQ! We do not charge for our events and events like this are not cheap but we do them to grow and invest in our cycling community. What we do ask for is for you to consider donating $10 (or more!) which go to the Trips for Kids! They use this money to put on bike events to teach and educate children in the joy and safety of riding bikes. They do great work for our local youth and we greatly appreciate their investment in our future cycling community.

While there is no age limit all minors must be accompanied by their guardian. All riders should be already capable of riding at least 15 miles and be comfortable riding in dirt.
